前説「安土城天主の二大 “迷宮” を解く！」

名古屋城天守　　　　　　　　松本城天守

ご覧の天守をはじめ、天守台のすぐ上の二つの階が同じ規模で重ねられた例は、草創期の天正から慶長の頃を中心に数多くが建てられました。

当ブログによる『天守指図』の新解釈に基づけば、安土城天主も、それらを先導した同様の形式だったと思われます。

静嘉堂文庫蔵『天守指図』の三重目（緑）＋二重目（赤）

ご覧のとおり、緑色の「三重目」は、新解釈の二重目（黄色い範囲）の上にしっかりとダブっていることが分かります。

つまり天主台の上は、周囲に “空き地” が取り巻いているものの、そこから建ち上がった二つの階（重）は、ほぼ同じ規模で重ねられていたわけです。

ただ、ａｂｃの矢印の箇所だけは、「三重目」が黄色い範囲から少々はみ出していて、これら三箇所については、前回までの図にやや修正が必要かもしれません。

例えば、二重目が元々そこまであったと考えるべきか、それとも三重目の壁面が二重目より外に張り出していたのか、はたまた両方のケースが混在していたのか、どのパターンも可能性はありそうです。

いずれにしましても、そうした安土城天主の本体の低層部は、豊臣大坂城の場合とまったく同じ「１１間×１２間」だったということが、いっそう明確になって来るのです。

また「三重目」と失われた原資料との整合性については、例えば、赤い二重目の南側（図では上）にある幅二間の小さな「張り出し」に対して、三重目で小さな「屋根」がかけられていて、（これは池上右平も気づかなかったはずの）思わぬ符合を発見できます。

こうした点も含めますと、「三重目」は、（一重目のように）右平が無から “加筆” した図ではなく、失われた原資料に基づいたものと考えて良さそうです。

さて、ここから先を考えていくためには、実は、安土城天主の解明において、難関中の難関とされた二つの大きな謎（言わば “二大迷宮” ）の検討が必要です。それは…

第一の迷宮 ： 高過ぎる天主台の記録「石くら乃高さ十二間余」という謎

第二の迷宮 ： 『天守指図』の “吹き抜け空間” は本当にあったのか？

そして次のように申し上げますと、それだけで驚愕の真相にお気づきになるかもしれませんが、上記の二大迷宮は “実は同じ問題だった”（！）という話題を、次回から詳しくお話してまいります。
