いよいよ論議すべき、「復元」ではなくて「仮想再建」だという実態

先日の日刊建設工業新聞オンライン（2014年1月28日号）にも載っていた
「江戸城天守完成イメージモデル」

ご覧の写真は、おそらく認定ＮＰＯ法人「江戸城天守を再建する会」が、建設工業新聞の記者に推薦・提供したものと推察して引用させていただきますが、模型そのものは東京国際フォーラムの会場等にも展示された、１／１００縮尺の岡本正之様制作の模型かと拝察いたします。

より複雑な構造をしていた寛永度天守台と、簡素化された現存天守台

上記の下の方の２図は前回の繰り返しですが、これらを合わせて見ますと、模型は石垣の色も含めて、明らかに、現存天守台の上に寛永度天守の木造部分を載せようとしているものだと解ります。

したがって「再建する会」がめざす建物は、なかなかに複雑な事情を抱えて（※模型の段階から問題化しそうな石垣の南端部はカットしつつ!…）完成をめざしていることが想像できるわけで、今回の記事は前回に続き、「再建する会」がどのような建物を建てようとしているのか、より具体的に検証してみたいと思います。

「幕府はこの台座の上に寛永天守と全く同じものを造る予定だった」
　という三浦正幸先生の主張が 「再建する会」の唯一の後ろ盾(だて)
　
　

前回に申し上げたとおり、寛永度天守台と現存天守台はまったくの「別物」

（※注：図の天守は石垣部分をデフォルメした描き方です）

さて、もれ伝わる情報によれば、おなじみの寛永度天守ＣＧを監修された三浦正幸先生は、「再建する会」のシンポジウムにおいて、「現在のこっている天守閣の台座は寛永の天守の台座ではありません」と前置きしつつも、現存天守台の「面積は寛永天守と全く同じです」と強調されたそうです。

そして高さが低いのは「台座の石垣が外から見えるのは下品だ」という徳川三代将軍家光の生前の言葉にしたがって施工したものであり、「ですから幕府はこの台座の上に寛永天守と全く同じものを造る予定だったのです。しかし当時、財政難がひどくなり再建ができなかったのです」という説明を行ったそうです。
　
　
ということは、すでにお察しのとおり、「この台座の上に寛永天守と全く同じものを造る予定だった」というのは、何よりも現存天守台と将軍家光との関係性に重きをおいた、三浦先生の＜見解・分析・主張＞であるという点を、まず確認しておく必要があるでしょう。
　
　
さらに、そうしたお考えに影響を及ぼしたのは、江戸時代に浮上した再建計画ではないか…という辺りも、城郭ファンならすぐに思い当たる点ではないでしょうか。

と申しますのは、三浦先生は「再建する天守の台座は４階（のビルに相当する）１２メートルです」ともおっしゃったそうで、１２メートル＝６間ですから、きっと現状の高さ５間半の石垣の上に「狭間石(さまいし)」を増設して６間にすることを意味していて、それは江戸時代の再建案とまったく同じ手法だからです。

ご承知のとおり、江戸時代の再建計画というのは、例えば正徳年間、六代将軍家宣(いえのぶ)が関心を示して推進されたものの、家宣の死去とともにあっけなく沙汰止みになったというものがあります。

江戸時代の再建案をめぐっては、いくつかのそれらしき図面が伝わって来ていて、特に上の右側の図面は、斜めから見下ろした（「軸側投影図」という絵巻物の建物描写のような）珍しい描き方の図面として知られています。

で、私なんぞは前々から気になっていたのですが、これらをよくよく見ますと、破風（特に千鳥破風／ちどりはふ）や降り棟(くだりむね)の描き方において、どうも腑(ふ)に落ちない点があるのです。

ひょっとすると、再建計画では「破風」も簡略化された疑いがあるのでは…

この二点は、諸先生方の見解が分かれて来た二種類の図面で、何故か、共通している現象でして、昔の建物の立面図などで降り棟を省略してしまうのはよくある描法でしたが、前述の、斜めから見下ろした珍しい図面においても、それが共通しているのは、やはりただ事ではないと感じられてならなかったのです。…

やや勝手なことも申し上げましたが、いずれにしましても、「再建する会」がめざす建物というのは、ひとえに、三浦先生の＜見解・分析・主張＞を唯一の後ろ盾にしたものであり、本当に「寛永天守と全く同じものを造る予定だった」のかどうか、これから真剣な検証がなされるべきだと思うのです。

現段階では、これは「復元」ではなくて「仮想再建」と説明すべきもの
